Introduction

This sub-tropical/tropical fern is commonly grown indoors and is not generally hardy below freezing. Seven plants were reported as appearing to be growing naturally near an old spring with no evidence of human residence on Salt Spring Island (Bryant G.684 @ UBC). Apparently this species can persist in protected situations in a mild winter.
